Ofrenda for Día de los Muertos
Honor your loved ones and contribute an offering
On display October 15 - November 2
One Stop

is a Mexican holiday to respect the relationship between life and death that dates back to pre-Hispanic rituals done by indigenous peoples such as the Olmecs, Toltecs, Mixtecs, Zapotecs, Maya, and Aztecs people/nations. Traditionally celebrated on Nov 1 and Nov 2, the living welcome and honor the dead for the two days as they return home to their living loved ones. The dead are welcomed through an Ofrenda, an altar of offerings to the dead, including food, decorations, or items linked with memories of the deceased.

Between now and Día de los Muertos, we encourage you to honor your loved ones who have passed on by bringing photographs and offerings to place on the community Ofrenda in the One Stop. Offerings can include food*, flowers, decorations, or items linked with memories of the deceased.

* Nonperishable food offerings left on the Ofrenda will be donated to the Campus Cupboard.
